Lemon Balm (aka Melissa officinalis) is an aromatic perennial cultivated throughout the world in temperate areas. The leaves are used either fresh or dried, typically in teas, tinctures, ointments or as an essential oil. Equally useful for both the outside and inside, Lemon Balm is full of antioxidants and is also anti-bacterial. It is calming, soothing, and one of our absolute favorites. This herb has tons of promising research on everything from diabetes to cancer to herpes.
