The Sanskrit name for Cumin, Jiraka, literally translates to "promoting digestion." The seeds of this small, annual shrub are used in conditions of bloating, flatulence, slow digestion, nausea, and indigestion. They are strong enough to balance all these conditions, yet gentle enough to not over-enkindle a strong digestive fire. A stupendous herb for detoxifying the entire system through the GI tract.
