How do I orient myself to the work when I myself feel so disconnected from anything larger than myself?

How can I keep learning and feel supported in my work when I work alone?

How do I combat “healer fatigue,” boredom, and the stress of being a practitioner and a business owner?

From the Field was born to answer these, and so many more, questions. Drawing on the wisdom and gathered expertise of a wide variety of amazing clinicians, our goal is to re-inspire and elevate your practice as a healer, business owner, and human being. We all struggle, individually, with so many of the same issues. Let’s come together, take responsibility for our questions and start getting some answers.

Each month will feature a different topic and expert (sometimes we get crazy and have a two part series). Some experts will present previously prepared material for half the time and then take questions for the final hour. Some will focus on your previously submitted questions and case studies for the entirety of their offering. But there will always be time for your engagement, your questions from your own practice, and space to connect with your fellow practitioners.

Right now, registration is open for all 2019 individual sessions! We will be announcing the 2020 schedule by the end of the year. In the future, we hope to create a “membership” option where you can register for the whole season at once, plus gain access to additional member benefits. We’re pretty excited about that.

Thunderbolt Ayurveda Practitioner Leah K

Leah Kaplan

Leah Kaplan graduated from the California College of Ayurveda as a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist, and went on to open Thunderbolt Ayurveda, a private practice in Petaluma, CA. Open for five years, Thunderbolt Ayurveda specializes in supporting men and women to find belonging in their own skin through Ayurveda. She is also a 500 hour certified yoga teacher and currently teaches at YogaWorks in Northern California.

From the Field came from talking to friends in other disciplines, like therapists or Nurse Practitioners, and realizing that so much of what they knew was applicable to holistic health providers and vice versa. Leah saw this opportunity to connect across disciplines for the improvement of the experts, the clinicians and the clients, and started From the Field to that end. May it be of service to you!

What’s different if I’m working with a client who is dying? Visiting or working with clients in the dying process may present a challenge, but it can also be a powerful means by which we can do some of the work that needs to be done before we, or someone especially close to us, dies.
